Dr Raliat Onatade had extensive experience in clinical pharmacy, medicines optimisation, and healthcare system transformation. She currently serves as Chief Pharmacist and Director of Medicines and Pharmacy for both the North East London Integrated Care System and Barts Health NHS Trust. Between 2021 and 2025, she also held the role of Chief Pharmacist for the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service Alliance.  She is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and is widely recognised for her leadership in advancing pharmacy practice across hospital and integrated care settings.

She has spent most of her professional career in hospital pharmacy and was until recently a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Hospital Expert Advisory Group.   Her academic and professional work focusses on the development of innovative clinical pharmacy services, medication safety, and the integration of pharmacy into wider healthcare delivery.  She has sat on, and advised national workstreams  on medicines optimisation, pharmacy practice and leadership.  Recent activities have been

  • member of The Health and Social Care Committee’s Expert Panel on Pharmacy
  • chair of the Leadership, Policy and Professionalism Working Group of the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership
  • member of the Advisory Group for RPS/ King’s Fund report ‘A vision for pharmacy professional practice in England’

Dr Onatade is also a strong advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare leadership and is committed to mentoring the next generation of pharmacy professionals.
