GPhC updates its inspection decision making framework

The GPhC has updated its inspection decision making framework, which inspectors use for consistent decision making when inspecting registered pharmacies.

Pharmacy owners and teams can now view the updated inspection decision making framework which sets out the factors taken into account when inspectors make decisions on whether a pharmacy is meeting the standards for registered pharmacies.

In addition to information about the overall approach taken, this document includes examples of findings that may demonstrate standards being met, standards not being met, areas for improvement and good practice.

Key changes since the last update include:

  • adding examples of areas for improvement and good practice

  • strengthening the examples around distance supply of medicines

  • adding examples reflecting changes in supervision legislation

This document now incorporates information from the Findings Framework and the Inspection Practice Note on Minor Non-Compliance documents, which have now both been withdrawn.
