This consultation sought on our draft standards for the initial education and training of pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy technicians play a vital role in providing safe and effective pharmacy services and it is essential that their education and training keeps up-to-date and reflects changes in pharmacy practice.
We proposed some changes to our standards for the initial education and training of pharmacy technicians, in response to changes across pharmacy and healthcare, and the evolving roles of pharmacy technicians. This will ensure pharmacy technicians have the knowledge, skills, understanding and behaviours needed to confidently work as part of multidisciplinary teams across various pharmacy settings.
About our proposals
