The GPhC’s Chief Pharmacy Officer, Roz Gittins, has written to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy owners to raise awareness of some emerging issues which have led to concerns being raised with us.
Everyone working in pharmacy has been asked to review the information and think about any actions they should take to ensure patients and the public receive safe and effective care.
The email highlights concerns and provides advice on areas including:
- diversion of medicines by staff
- checking addresses when supplying medicines at a distance
- supplying medicines overseas
- advertising and promotion of medicines
- supplies of methadone and patient information leaflets (PILs)
- Yellow Card reporting for GLP-1s
